Dr. Shohreh Ghasemi, an Iranian oral surgeon, adjunct assistant professor in the Augusta University OMFS Department, faculty at the Georgia School of Orthodontics, speaker, and human rights activist, has been recognized for her outstanding achievements in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, community development, and human rights advocacy.
Born on January 16, 1984, in Tehran, Iran, Dr. Ghasemi graduated from high school in 2001 and earned an associate’s degree in laboratory science in 2003. She then earned her BDS in dental surgery in 2009 from Sharjah University and her MS in Aesthetic Dentistry in 2015 from Manchester University in the United Kingdom. In 2012, she obtained her diploma in Laser and Skin and Physics, and in 2013, she joined the fellowship for facial cosmetic surgery.
In 2017, Dr. Ghasemi relocated to the US to enroll in New York University’s advanced program in aesthetics for international dentists. She finished her master’s program in face implants that same year in Las Vegas, United States. Later, she enrolled in the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in 2018 to study oral surgery.
Dr. Ghasemi began her career in 2012 as a practitioner in facial cosmetic surgery at Dream Aesthetic Clinic, Métis Clinic, and Sina Shemiran Day Clinic. She began working as a professor at Tehran Community College in the same year. She later worked as a facial cosmetic surgery instructor at Tehran University and a facial cosmetic surgery trainer at Pishro Teb. In 2014, she joined the Ilya Alvarez Company as a critical doctor and was appointed an international associate at the Iranian Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery’s International Affair in 2016.
In 2017, Dr. Ghasemi received an associate fellowship in implant dentistry from New York University while working as a researcher in the department of craniofacial sciences at Nova Southeastern University. She also worked as a global medical advisor for several businesses, including Silhouette, Instalift, Bellafill and Dermapose, Prollenium, and Sinclair Company. In 2018, she joined Cristalix as a partner and representative.
In 2020, Dr. Ghasemi began working as an adjunct faculty member at Augusta University, where she later earned the title of adjunct clinical assistant professor. She is the author of renowned books, including Innovative perspective in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Navigation in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Mini Invasive Techniques in Rhinoplasty. Entrepreneur magazine listed her as one of the top 10 cosmetic surgeons in the world.
Dr. Ghasemi has also received recognition from the US state department for her efforts in community colleges and workforce development. She has provided treatments to over 250 patients, organized conferences, and conducted several types of research on “facial cosmetic surgery.”
As of 2022, Dr. Ghasemi is employed as a visiting physician at GSO, adjunct faculty at the Georgia School of Orthodontics, and the OMFS Department at Augusta University. She practices medicine at Wind Ward Healthcare and provides services to needy patients.
