Salt Lake City, UT: Big Mountain Barbell provides a safe training environment to beginners and professional athletes, helping them to reach their full potential. Since its inception, the gym and its personal trainers have deliberately and continuously built a positive environment where all types of people can feel welcomed and at home. Also, the community members are humble and willing to share their knowledge.
In addition to the tightly knit community, the gym has several sections of equipment. One of the sections is a powerlifting area with deadlift platforms complete with power bars, mono lifts, free-standing squat racks (with safety bars), and combo racks. The lifting section also has specialty bars for SSB, transformers, and football professionals.
The Salt Lake City gym has a special Olympic lifting area for people interested in high-impact and high-intensity forms of training. It is fitted with all the right equipment, including 7 lifting platforms, Eleiko bars, kilos plates, and jerk blocks. In addition, the accessory area has dumbbells, kettlebells, a machine press overhead, leg curls, a cable pulley system, hamstring curls, a machine row, and a seal row (among others).
Big Mountain Barbell has invested in cardio and flywheel areas. Members interested in cardio exercises have access to a wide range of equipment, including Peloton treadmills, c2 rowers, assault air runners, airdyne bikes, and stepmills. In addition, there are men’s and women’s locker rooms with toilets, showers, lockers, and a sauna (open from 6 am to 10 pm.)
Big Mountain Barbell understands the importance of providing everyone with access to the necessary equipment without waiting for someone else to finish using it. Based on that, the gym limits the number of memberships it sells yearly. Besides, members can pay monthly, opt for a six or 12-month contract, or go for the yearly membership. Alternatively, they can opt for a weekly or a single-day pass if they are visiting the city or while starting up.
The gym hosts a team of professional coaches for members interested in private coaching. Based on their goals in terms of what they want to achieve physically and mentally, they are assigned to a highly experienced and passionate trainer. Alternatively, they can read the trainer’s profiles on the website before contacting the gym for a consultation. Small group training is also available upon request.
When speaking about the gym, one member noted: “Fantastic barbell gym! Friendly and helpful staff, even the gym goers are ready and willing to step in to offer encouragement and help. A lot of great equipment and it is well maintained. Plenty of space to do Olympic lifts, walking lunges, sled work, and even shuttle sprints.”
