  • Looking After Your Skin During the Winter Months

Birmingham, UK, 19 December 2022, ZEXPRWIRE, During the winter months, your skin is more likely to be dry and dehydrated. In order to avoid dryness, it is important to keep your skin moisturized.

    Exfoliating

During the colder months, looking after your skin by exfoliating can make a huge difference. By buffing away the dead layers of skin, you are able to open up pores and allow other skincare products to penetrate. This will leave your complexion brighter and smoother. By using an exfoliant, you will not only be removing dead skin cells, but you will also be boosting circulation. This will increase your moisture levels and allow your moisturizer to work better.

Another good option is to use a face scrub. These contain exfoliating agents like glycerin and aloe extract to rejuvenate the skin. This will help your skin’s barrier function and protect it from damage. Do not use a harsh exfoliant on your skin, this can damage your skin barrier and create other issues.

In addition to an exfoliator, you should also take the time to apply a vitamin C serum to your face. This will help you keep your skin hydrated, help with dealing with hyperpigmentation while protecting you from the damaging effects of winter.

A good way to make sure that you are doing all the right things for your skin is to follow a skincare routine that is designed specifically for your skin’s needs. You should also replace the lightest moisturiser with something that will give you more hydration.

    Moisturising

During the winter months, it is important to keep your skin moisturized to prevent dryness. The cold air can irritate your skin and make it dry and flaky. It is best to avoid washing your face too often as well. Using a gentle cleanser and exfoliant can help your skin feel hydrated. When exfoliating avoid abrasive scrubbing. Instead, use light circular motions. If you have a problem with sensitive skin, you may want to consult a dermatologist to find the best options for your skin.

If your skin is particularly dry, you may want to switch to a creamier, more hydrating cleanser. You can also take a warm bath to hydrate your skin. You can add essential oils to the water to create a protective layer on your skin.

If you have dry lips, you may need to apply lip balm regularly. An ointment-based, petroleum jelly type product is a good choice. You can also try a gel-over-cream moisturizer.

For your hands and feet, you should use thick moisturizing creams. These will help your skin build a barrier to keep moisture in. You can also put on cotton gloves to lock in moisture.

If your skin tends to get dry during the winter, you should try an overnight mask. You can also add a hydrating foundation.

For your body, you may want to consider using a body moisturizer that contains a blend of hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and amino peptides. You can also bathe in essential oils. You can add a protective coating to your skin by soaking in a warm bath. Using an oil body moisturiser can help with trapping moisture into your skin.

    Retinols

If you’re using a retinol, it can leave you with a youthful complexion. Retinol is a powerhouse vitamin A derivative that will have your skin glowing in no time. It’s a good idea to use a sunscreen with a broad-spectrum SPF of 30 or higher to sun damage and ensure you use a good moisture the following day. Always use Retinol at nighttime and never during the day.

Protecting your skin from the sun

Taking steps to protect your skin from the sun during winter months can help to reduce your risk of skin cancer. In addition, protecting your skin from the sun during the winter months helps to prevent premature signs of aging.

The sun is at its strongest during the hours of 10 AM to 4 PM. Although it is less powerful than summer sun, it is still dangerous. Using sunscreen is an important part of winter sun protection.

If you plan to be outdoors for a long time, it is important to reapply sunscreen every two hours. This is particularly true for people with sensitive skin. You should also reapply after swimming, sweating or when you’ve been exposed to water.

Even on cloudy days, the sun’s UV rays can still reach you. It is recommended that you apply sunscreen liberally to all of your skin. This includes the face, neck and lips.

Another important winter sun safety practice is to moisturize your skin. This will keep your skin from drying out. Additionally, wear a wide-brimmed hat to help prevent sunburn on your scalp.

    Profhilo

If you find that your moisturiser isn’t doing the trick to moisture your skin, you can always try Profhilo which is a hyaluronic acid gel treatment which is injected directly into the skin, this has a prolonged stimulating effect on your dermal cells and stimulates the cell receptors to counteract skin laxity, improve and restore firmness of your skin. This treatment is considered industry gold standard for hyaluronic acid treatments, that boost and hydrates your skin and remodelling ageing and sagging tissue.

  • COVID-19 mRNA Vaccines Affects Jewish Marriages and Fertility — DailyClout.io Launches a New Investigative Series

    Palm Beach, Florida (Newsworthy.ai) Monday Dec 19, 2022 @ 9:05 AM Pacific —

Recent reports by journalist Etana Hecht suggest that the COVID-19 vaccine may be impacting the menstrual cycles and fertility of women in the Jewish Orthodox community.

American/Israeli reporter Hecht, known for her courageous Substack examining COVID-19 protocols, reports Orthodox women, with their long history of tracking their menstrual cycles and fertility, have noticed changes such as

    • Excessively heavy or painful periods;
    • Missed periods;
    • Excessively long spotting;
    • Periods returning post-menopause.

“Some of the earliest reports of menstrual disruption post-vaccination came from the women of the Jewish Orthodox community, almost immediately after the vaccine rollout,” said Etana Hecht. “To give a clear picture of why that was the case, some background is necessary.”

Renowned Epidemiologist and Ph.D. Dr. Paul Elias Alexander’s latest Substack reviews Etana Hecht’s article: “Etana does a marvelous, yet troubling research look at the issue of the COVID gene injections & the impact on the menstrual cycle and we can extrapolate to potentially fertility, etc. far-reaching effects”

Dr. Naomi Wolf and a few who followed her lead publicly called attention to the issue of women’s menstrual cycles being impacted in the spring of 2021.

“The evidence has only gotten stronger to support the early warnings,” said Dr. Wolf, a renowned feminist and spokesperson for this issue. “We need to thoroughly investigate the potential long-term effects of the COVID-19 vaccine on women’s reproductive health.”

Rabbis in Israel and America have also raised concerns about a drop in birthrates and reports of birth defects in babies born to vaccinated mothers.

Both Dr. Wolf and Hecht are available for interviews to discuss their research and the potential implications for the wider population.

  • Smile Center of Orlando, a Winter Park Dentist, Improves the Appearance and Function of Gums, Teeth, and Bites in a Comfortable Environment

Winter Park, FL – Few people enjoy dentist visits, whether they need a routine cleaning, smile enhancements, or bite-correcting procedures. Having a dentist poke and prod at teeth and gums is uncomfortable and nerve-racking, which is why Smile Center of Orlando Winter Park focuses on professional and caring dentistry. Dr. John Altomare, DMD, the principal dentist, understands the importance of good oral care to provide high-quality services. The dentist and office staff use the latest dental technology to diagnose and treat problems in a friendly environment.

An unattractive smile affects a person’s overall appearance, impacting self-esteem and confidence. While cosmetic dental treatments help patients achieve youthful and attractive appearances, they improve oral health by eliminating gaps and protecting the teeth from further damage. The clinic’s cosmetic dentistry services are performed alone or in combination with other treatments. Professional teeth whitening services improve a patient’s appearance visibly, not like home whitening kits, over-the-counter products, or natural approaches. In a 90-minute session, the dentist uses high-quality products specifically created to whiten tooth pores.

To correct cracks, chips, gaps, and misshapen teeth, the Dentist uses porcelain veneers, thin tooth-like layers bonded to the front surfaces of teeth. Alternatively, they recommend porcelain, metal, or ceramic dental crowns to cover the visible portion of a tooth. Even though the treatment protects damaged/decayed teeth, it’s common for cosmetic purposes to create a more balanced smile. Additionally, the dentist makes custom clear braces/Invisalign to straighten teeth gradually. It’s a great option over traditional metal braces for patients desiring straight teeth without brackets or metal wires.

At Smile Center of Orlando, Dr. John Altomare, DMD, offers dental restoration treatments for damaged or lost teeth. He uses a comprehensive approach that includes composite fillings to match the color of natural teeth and root canal therapy to save bacteria damaged/infected teeth. Patients missing one or more teeth due to decay, disease, or injury can visit the clinic for dental implant procedures. The dentist surgically places titanium screws into the jawbone where the missing teeth once were. When the implant heals and bonds with the bone, they attach an artificial tooth to create natural-looking results that improve function and enhance smile appearance.

Smile Center of Orlando Winter Park focuses on preventive dental care to keep teeth and gums healthy. Professional teeth cleanings, dental x-rays, fluoride treatments, thorough dental examinations, and dental sealants catch dental problems early, remove plaque/tartar build-up, and prevent the development of cavities. During treatment, the dentist educates patients about keeping their breath fresh, avoiding gum disease, detecting early stages of oral cancer, and dental home care practices for good oral health.

Dr. John Altomare, DMD, conducts extensive consultations to determine a patient’s oral health problems and needs before performing diagnostic imaging. Once completed, he recommends personalized treatment plans. His approach has earned the dental clinic many 5-star reviews and positive testimonials. Call (407) 678-8848 to schedule a consultation or visit their website. Smile Center of Orlando is located at 3710 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL, 32792, US.

  • New Article Reviews State of Clinical Trial Enrollment from Non-White Patients

Decentralized clinical trial pioneer, ObvioHealth, recently posted a new article discussing the difference between white and non-white participation in clinical trials.

To understand the reason for this disparity, the company delved into the history of trauma that led to a distrust of the medical profession among ethnic groups.

One of the first points raised by the Virtual Research Organization (VRO) was the unethical and dangerous medical studies certain groups were subjected to without their knowledge or consent in the past.

Problems of language, culture, and religion have also contributed to the lack of participation, claims the company.

Finally, there are practical reasons, such as the inability to travel to the trial site due to a lack of job security, making people reluctant to leave work.

Regardless of reasons, this lack of trial participation goes on to create a disparity in medical outcomes, claims the company. One of the examples provided was enrollment in cancer trials.

The company explains that, in the U.S., death rates due to cancer have increased among the Native American and Alaskan Native populations in the last three decades. However, their participation in trials has declined.

Similarly, other ethnic minorities are also poorly represented. Even though 14% of the American population is Black, a 2015 cancer study only had 1.8% participation from that group.

This becomes even more problematic since 20% of the patients diagnosed with myeloma in the U.S. are Black, observes ObvioHealth.

When it comes to blood cancer, Black Americans represent an insignificant percentage of trial participants, even though they are twice as likely to be diagnosed with it than white Americans.

On the face of it, this might not seem like a problem, especially if there are enough trial participants. However, the fact is, treatment efficacy can vary among different population types, says the company. Symptoms, treatments, and side effects may differ based on a patient’s genetic markers.

Therefore, according to the VRO, representation in clinical trials is essential for the development of treatments that work effectively across ethnic groups.

The company pointed out similar discrepancies in trial participation in Australia, where 1.5% clinical trials focused on Aboriginal health.

Again, this lack of wider participation means that long-term medical problems cannot be identified in minority groups, states ObvioHealth. Also, potential issues cannot be identified early in the process of developing a treatment.

To fix this issue, ObvioHealth suggests that there needs to be efforts made to rebuild trust. That entails improving communications and transparency and actively engaging community members in the research process.

The VRO provided the example of indigenous people and how engaging community members might mean storing biological samples on sovereign indigenous land, and ensuring they are made available only to researchers who prioritize their needs.

Another important step, according to the company, might be to provide them with a research environment that feels emotionally and physically safe. Improving access, too, will help boost Indigenous and minority participation rates.

To that end, virtual enrollment might help create an inclusive environment, where the hurdle of geographical distance is eliminated. It also helps give participants more privacy, encouraging them to take part in trials for what might be considered taboo diseases and disorders.

Finally, virtual participation also helps in communication and transparency, claims ObvioHealth. With technological advances in remote patient monitoring and sophisticated remote telemedicine, virtual clinical trials are the answer to encouraging diversity in medical research.

ObvioHealth’s platform enables decentralized clinical trials through comprehensive and patient-friendly features. To view what the software offers, please visit https://www.obviohealth.com/

  • CCHR Reviews a Year of Child Abuse Allegations Against Behavioral Institutions

As the year draws to an end, Citizens Commission on Human Rights International, a mental health industry watchdog, reviews the campaign that has raised awareness about the abuse of “troubled teens” in a behavioral and psychiatric industry that has put profit before patient welfare. During the past seven years, CCHR has sent tens of thousands of notifications about child abuse in America’s behavioral treatment system to state and federal legislators, including about restraint deaths and the need for legislative protections. Celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Paris Jackson, Kat Von D, and recently Collin Gosselin and “White Boy Summer” rapper Chet Hanks (son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson) have all spoken out about the trauma of being held against their will in behavioral facilities during their teens.

In February this year, The Private Equity Stakeholder Project report, “The Kids Are Not Alright: How Private Equity Profits Off of Behavioral Health Services for Vulnerable and At-Risk Youth, revealed how for-profit behavioral facilities had become a gravy train for investors in a $23 billion a year “child abuse” industry.[1]

Since Hilton spoke out in 2020 in her documentary, This is Paris, about being locked up, at age 16, in the Provo Canyon School behavioral facility in Utah, many others have warned of similar experiences. Recently, Chet Hanks, 32, revealed he was sent to a southern Utah “wilderness program” as a 17-year-old in 2008 to handle his addiction and behavioral issues. He detailed the harrowing experience, much the way that Paris Hilton has done. He believes his parents were manipulated as they had fame and money and he ended up staying longer than most other teens. He was forced to do “manual labor” in the remote wilderness.[2]

His parents would have been unaware of an October 2007 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report that found restraint deaths and other abuses in youth behavioral facilities.[3]

Collin Gosselin, 18, from the reality TV show Jon and Kate Plus 8 also opened up about his experience in an institution owned by a for-profit behavioral facility company that his mother–then divorced from Jon–forcibly sent him to at age 12 believing it would deal with his behavioral issues.[4] The institution was a “scary place,” Collin said, “I think being in a place like that does more damage than it helps you.” His father ultimately removed the teen from the hospital after the boy begged for help in a 2017 letter.[5]

Both celebrities were lucky to survive the controversial “troubled teen” programs. Collin says he now concentrates on a positive future. Chet said his parents have always supported him and he has now found peace in solitude and has strengthened his relationship with God.

But the abuses in these types of “troubled teen” facilities and psychiatric hospitals continue to this day. On December 1, 2022, NewsChannel 5 Investigates in Tennessee reported the case of two teenage girls who died from overdosing on over-the-counter medication while at an Oak Plains behavioral facility. The girls gained access to a nurse’s station to take the drug, and fell unconscious, dying shortly afterward.[6]

Online the facility says it treats troubled kids ages 5 to 17. Since 2017, Montgomery County Sheriff has received 238 reports that vary from assaults to runaway calls, and many others.[7]

In December 2022, a former medical director of a psychiatric facility for children and adolescents in Virginia was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of object sexual penetration by force, relating to allegations made by two former patients.[8] The hospital has been under criminal investigation by the Virginia State Police for child abuse and neglect since October 17, 2017.[9] The Charlotte Observer recently reported how child abuse and neglect in North Carolina psychiatric facilities is common, yet action to handle the problem and bring accountability is rare.[10]

Many well-meaning parents end up deciding on such programs for their children after being given false assurances of “efficacy” by those who have a financial stake in the matter. However, there is no science to a “wilderness program” component in adolescent therapy.[11]

CCHR says the year’s end must come with a commitment from legislators, policymakers, and educational reformists to remove psychiatric and psychological programs from troubled children and teens’ lives.
