  • Creative At-Home Play Ideas From Wallan Indoor Play Centre Owner

    At-home creative play centre ideas

When parents are too busy to leave the house, children need some at-home entertainment to keep them occupied. Entertainment that is healthy, educational, and exciting in essence.

Kylie-Jane Shannon, owner of Jungle Kids Indoor Play Centre, provides some well-rounded, exciting at-home play centre ideas that are simple to set-up.

“Children are active little beings, and even at home, they require healthy, educational, and constructive levels of entertainment,” says Kylie. Some play centre ideas that parents can incorporate into their homes include; an obstacle course, free drawing, ball pass, snack-making, and make-believe.

Obstacle Course: “Make home the ultimate and fun-filled obstacle course by using pillows, rugs, sheets, toys and furniture, for kids to navigate,” says Kylie. “Make sure the items are soft and safe, and enjoy watching them create a world of wonder,” adds Kylie.

Free-drawing: “Provide some wax crayons, colour pencils, water based paints, and large pieces of paper, and watch as their artistic flair and imagination run wild,” says Kylie.

Ball Pass: Whether it’s outside or inside, tossing a ball back and forth with little ones assists in building their fine-motor skills, and provides a great level of fun. Try using a variety of balls (suitable for the area in which they are playing), soft, large, small, light, and heavy and watch their dexterity improve as they become more confident with throwing, tossing and catching.

Snack-making: Making meals can become even more exciting, when kids help in the kitchen when preparing a snack for the family. Provide a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables and encourage them to taste and prepare colourful and healthy meal options. “For even more fun and individuality, let them prepare their plates in their own way; you might be surprised at what they come up with and what they eat,” says Kylie.

Make-believe: The home can be a mystical and exciting environment for make-believe play. Provide a box of dress-ups and encourage kids to make their own props and watch their imaginations explode. “Enable them to be as creative as possible, by adding effects such as music or lighting,” says Kylie.

“Children do not have face boredom when you realise that the home can be an ideal play centre experience away from the play centre,” says Kylie. Allowing them the comfort, creative control and unconditional support throughout their play experience will work towards their benefit, and support their physical, emotional and social development.

  • Indoor Play Centre Owner In Wallan Promotes Dress-Up Fun For Kids

Dress up fun and its imaginative advantages

Donning an awesome fairy outfit or astronaut suit, sparks an absolutely creative and wondrous experience for children. A major plus, is that there are excellent advantages that benefit children’s development.

Kylie-Jane Shannon, owner of Jungle Kids Indoor Play Centre, discusses the benefits of dress up fun, and how it can spark imaginative creativity and provide for healthy development in children, at both play centres, and at home.

“Jungle Kids Indoor Play Centre offers themed parties for young children that promote dress up play for children, stimulates their imagination and inspires their creative abilities,” says Kylie. “The Safari and Fairy parties are very popular and others are on offer too,” he adds.

The array of costumes enables children to transition into their favourite character, as well as teaching them to dress up without any fuss, supporting parents in their quest for stress-free dress up experiences with their little ones. The possibilities of dress up are endless. Arts and craft items can be supplied to enable children to build props or add other effects to enhance their dress up experience.

“Dress up play is more than just wearing a particular costume, it helps the child imitate the mannerisms of the character they’re playing. This also allows children to infuse their own creative take on the character, and encourages individually unique thinking,” says Kylie. Children can create their own special themes, express a range of emotions, and effectively communicate through language, all in a safe environment.

The fun shouldn’t just stop at play centres; take children out into the community dressed in their costumes and watch how they use their imagination. Imaginative play can extend to designing games while they are in ‘character’. Take your fairy princesses to the park and watch them create a fairy garden.

Play super-hero games such as X-Ray vision or Captain America (Visit Firstcry Parenting’s 10 fascinating superhero games for kids here). Your child might choose to be a pirate stomping around and scaring people, or a doctor giving their teddy a check-up. The ideas are endless. Get involved with your children as they play, and don’t forget to capture these fun and exciting moments on camera.

Have a dress up box at home and watch your child develop their imagination, build their confidence, express their emotions and above all, have fun. Items in the dress up box can include hats, eye-patches, sunglasses, swords, wands, cloaks, gloves, etc as well as ready-made costumes or pieces of material that children can use to transform themselves into a favourite character.

“Dress up fun can be an exciting and collaborative experience between parents and children. It supports healthy and creative development and is as important as academic development at school. So, allow their imagination to flow through their character and costume choice, and watch their creative magic unfold,” says Kylie.

  • Wallan-based Jungle Kids Indoor Play Centre Owner Gets Kids Ready For Fun

Getting kids play centre ready for 2023

2023 has arrived, and along with it, comes a list of resolutions and goals set by many. For parents, it’s ensuring that their children get the very best out of life through educational, entertaining and simply wholesome experiences. This is where play centres play their biggest role.

Kylie-Jane Shannon, owner of Jungle Kids Indoor Play Centre, gets her children’s play centre ready for the year ahead, by educating parents on key items to bring when visiting Jungle Kids, or their nearest play centre.

“As we’ve settled into the new year, it’s important to reaffirm that parents should be prepared for their children’s play experience. Having a simple yet effective checklist of items that their children may need when visiting their play centre is important,” says Kylie. “Below is a list of necessary items for children that parents should pack for ideal play centre preparation,” Kylie adds.

Wash towel/ face cloth: “As the Australian heat does its rounds this summer, keeping a dry and clean face cloth or wash towel for children is necessary,” says Kylie. From wiping sweaty faces, to a temporary dry up before heading home for a nice bath after a day of play, face cloths and wash towels do the trick to reduce germ buildup and keep children comfortable and dry after a sweaty day of play.

Spare clothes: “Keeping a spare set of clothes can come in handy for lots of reasons,”says Kylie.

Socks: “At Jungle Kids, socks are mandatory for a hygienic and optimum play experience,” says Kylie. Parents must pack socks for their children when coming to Jungle Kids Indoor Play Centre’s play areas.

Comfortable shoes: Where shoes are allowed, having comfortable footwear for children is a must for play centre fun. It allows them to have as much physical freedom and mobility that is uninterrupted throughout their play experience. For an after-play solution, pack a comfortable pair of slippers or comfortable and soft footwear to soothe their feet, as well as provide ventilation and much-needed air to avoid sweaty, smelly and hygienic issues.

Hand sanitiser: Sanitising children’s hands before play is crucial before and after play. “Most play centres will have onsite wash basins with liquid soap. Parents should use these facilities to ensure that their children are well-prepared hygienically for play,” says Kylie.

Bottled water: Kids will go through a long and hot day of play. Having cold water on hand is crucial. Alternatively, parents can purchase water from the play centre’s cafe.

Snacks: Strenuous playing can make anyone hungry. “At Jungle Kids, our delectable selection of healthy meals, chilled water and alternative beverages provides a great and affordable pit-stop for children and parents from our comfortable cafe,” says Kylie.

Backpack: A large, named backpack where all items can be kept safely is a must. “Teaching kids to keep their own items together in one place is a valuable learning experience for life,” says Kylie.

“Preparation may sound tedious and daunting, but when regularly done, the results will be a relief for both parents and children. Being prepared for a busy day of play ticks many boxes, so let’s get ready for a great year of great play,” says Kylie.

  • Pepe Ape Yacht Club Finalizes Legends NFT Collection, Featuring Elvis Presley Photos and Music Courtesy Of Louisiana Hayride Archives

Pepe Ape Yacht Club Finalizes Legends NFT Collection, Featuring Elvis Presley Photos and Music Courtesy Of Louisiana Hayride Archives

USA — Pepe Ape Yacht Club and Louisiana Hayride Archives collaborated to create a one-of-a-kind NFT called “PAYC Legends” that includes images of Elvis Presley and music from the Louisiana Hayride.

Based on the exclusive IP Rights secured from Louisiana Hayride Archives for Elvis photos and music to use in one of their projects last December, Pepe Ape Yacht Club’s newest NFT collection, “PAYC Legends,” has finally been fully minted out as all the music and photos are accessible for their token holders. The first NFT project, “PAYC Genesis” is the first to receive the “Inspired by Bored Ape Yacht Club” blue check  on OpenSea.  PAYC Legends enables each NFT holder to enjoy commercial and non-commercial rights to the music clips and photos by stating that they are “courtesy of Louisiana Hayride Archives.” The photos and music are now viewable at https://opensea.io/collection/payc-legends

It is evident that in recent years, the popularity of non-fungible tokens or NFTs has been on the rise. These digital collectibles with a unique identification code allow seamless tracking of ownership of the token just as a VIN identifies a vehicle with its rightful owner. Pepe Ape Yacht Club is creating limited edition tokens using distinctive images and video clips licensed from the Louisiana Hayride Archives that can be kept as-is or “morph” into other images and advantages through the Pepe Ape Yacht Club platform for fun and unique entertainment. Each token, or NFT, has a special code that cannot be changed. This code serves as an identification for the token’s owner and any future investors who buy the token from them.

“Fondly known as “The Hillbilly Cat” or “The Memphis Flash”, Elvis Presley was true showmanship which is probably his most enduring legacy. He distinguished himself from other rock legends by having genuinely unique performing skills. As Elvis did with music, PAYC is forging new ground in the expanding NFT industry. “The Pepe Ape Yacht Club has gained a sizable following in the Web3 space thanks to its genuinely novel and cutting-edge offerings.”- Said Joey Kent, owner of the Louisiana Hayride archives.

  • Carbon.Credit Exchange Mints Clean Bitcoin Offset As Ordinal NFT

San Juan ,Puerto Rico — Since its launch, Carbon.Credit has seen a massive response in the community.

Carbon.Credit, an innovative exchange for carbon credit and renewable energy credits, has announced that it has successfully minted a clean bitcoin renewable energy offset which can be traded and transferred on the bitcoin network as an Ordinal NFT.  The new product called Clean Bitcoin (CBTC) will be available for trading on the exchange.

Bitcoin mining has been controversial due to its increasingly large energy footprint.  It currently takes between 300 and 400 MWh of electricity to mine a single bitcoin as a blockchain reward using the bitcoin proof of work protocol.  This energy requirement stabilizes the underlying value of bitcoin and protects it from attack.  However, people concerned about the impact on climate have lobbied for miners to use renewable energy, and investors to offset their bitcoin with renewable energy credits.

“After listening to feedback from miners, energy producers, bitcoin investors, and other stakeholders, we believe we have the solution that will address the needs of market participants,” said Chris Mack, Founder of Carbon.Credit.

CBTC Tokens minted are backed by renewable energy credits based on the Cambridge Bitcoin Electricity Consumption Index (CECI).  Owners will be able to identify the renewable energy credits (measured in MWh) that back the token.  CBTC tokens are minted as Bitcoin Ordinal NFTs so that only the bitcoin network is needed.  CBTC tokens contain metadata that includes quantity denomination to support large quantities efficiently. The metadata is persisted to IPFS to reduce block size usage on the bitcoin network and optimize energy efficiency.

The entire bitcoin network is estimated to consume 121 TWh annually.  Clean bitcoin could mitigate the environmental impact of the network.
