With the latest move, this social enterprise seeks to provide women with dignified employment opportunities around the globe. Made for Freedom partners with centers around the world to provide actionable solutions, removing the source of the victims’ vulnerability and combating poverty.

According to the National Human Trafficking Hotline, there were 10,949 cases of human trafficking reported in the United States in 2020. Of these cases, 8,608 involved sex trafficking and 2,341 involved labor trafficking. It is difficult to accurately measure the prevalence of human trafficking, as it is often a hidden crime that goes unreported.

Made for Freedom aims to assist the growing number of support systems worldwide, and its latest release contributes to furthering education opportunities and counseling for affected women. The social enterprise explains that this is an effective strategy to help women escape cycles of exploitation.

Social awareness is a key component of the cause and Made for Freedom intends to educate the public through a series of product releases on its online store. It combines this with an educational mission to reduce unintentional contributions to human trafficking.

Included in the product collection is an adjustable woven bracelet, which is commonly known as a friendship bracelet. These can be worn individually or stacked to create multi-colored combinations. They are handwoven cotton pieces that directly contribute to supporting Indonesian women in danger of exploitation.

In addition, one of their best sellers is the ‘Seek Justice Necklace’ made of stainless steel. It has a streamlined design and is engraved on three sides with Seek Justice, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly. This is inspired by minimalist architecture and has been handmade by women in Asia rescued from human trafficking.

A spokesperson for the company states: “Our artisans come from a seemingly endless cycle of extreme vulnerability caused by poverty. By paying these women a living wage, we can remove the source of their vulnerability, and in turn prevent them from turning to sex trafficking, exploitation, or sweatshop labor as their only source of viable income.”
