    Chinese-born, Manhattan-based, Tiantian Ma embraces her spirituality of Transcendentalism applying the principles to that of the organic paintings she produces. Having a deep gratitude and affection for nature, she emphasizes the harmony between humanity and other natural phenomena; believing that there is one universal spirit living through everything. The soft undulating features Ma depicts in her surreal landscapes or figures with the addition of clear acrylic resin amplifies the phantasmagorical mystery of the invisible forces at play in reality. Mimicking the complexity of nature; Ma layers, builds, and alters the oil medium to achieve varying effects of depth in her exploration of energy, rhythms, and emotions persistent through the human experience. Her painting style evokes the abstracted flowers of Georgia O’keefe or the ethereal figurative works of Albert Bloch. Her practice was further developed while attending Pratt Institute receiving her BFA in 2020. Having solo exhibitions with Latitude gallery in 2020 and Gallery 40 in 2021.
